Protein~what am i doing wrong

Recommended Posts

How are many of you doing 80+ grams of Protein and keeping it 500-800 calories!?!?

I can't get the math to make sense. Today I had 1 1/2 pc of fish with about a tablespoon of tartar sauce, a Protein Shake, 4 oz of chicken, 2 bites of watermelon and a low cal fudgecicle, I'm OVER 800 calories and I only have 57 gm of protein. What the heck....

I have been drinking "Premiere Protein" shakes from costco. They have 30g Protein, 5g Carb, 1g Sugar and only 160 calories. I'll typically have 2-3 of these a day, depending on my activity level, so that puts me at 60-90g of Protein before I add in my two meals.

I bought the premiere and I hate them. Maybe I will try again tomorrow and see if I can doctor them up with done sugar free flavoring s or something.

Thanks

Thanks Laura, I just went down and mixed one with ice, vanilla and almond flavorings. I can choke it down. And actually if I just keep drinking them my palate will eventually adjust. ;-)

I'll have to retry the Fage also, I'm not a yogurt fan but like the yoplait 100 cal Greek, it has 10 grams. Tomorrow I'll do the cheese and sliced turkey for lunch.

Thanks girls. I'll get this figured out yet. Trying to be at 206 by the 19th. I have long promised myself a day of pampering in seattle when I hit 100lbs down from my heaviest, I'm Headed to my sisters outside of Bellingham and I want be able to Celebrate.

I'll have to go by some pb-2. I have some in the cupboard but its 5 years old. I think I just need to throw it away. But I am craving Peanut Butter big time. Grabbed one of the peanut butter to goes the other day, ate it and the discovered it had 240 cals. Oh we'll that's what I get for not logging my calories first.

Anyone have recommendations about PB2, what brand is best, where to get it, etc?

Thanks!

Heck I don't need anything but a spoon for my Peanut Butter. ;-)

If you google PB-2 what will pop up is the orig brand by i think plantation. I have heard you can order peanut flour which is similar. I was thinking about trying it, but if I remember correctly the price was similar. ( though the Problem may have been the quantity I needed to buy of the peanut flour).

Haha! Me too! I love me some peanut butter!!

I went to the store a couple of days ago to grind some and the machine got stuck!!! :o

Oh no! I tracked down a grocery boy and said this is unacceptable!!

Well peanuts spilled all over the floor and three grocery workers later I got my peanut butter!

:P

Funny!!!

The crazy thing about the Peanut Butter craving, is it is not a usual food for me. Once a while on an apple, or of course Umpqua choc Peanut Butter ice cream, but the last couple of weeks it's all I can do to not just sit down with the whole jar and start spooning it in. Trying to figure out if any lacking nutrients will cause you to crave peanut butter.

Chinamama, my local Fred Meyer carries PB2 in the health foods section. I believe I heard that some QFCs have it, as well. I usually order mine direct from Bell Plantation, but right now they're in the process of switching over their production and packaging to in-house so they're out of the jarred versions.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
