History & Physical Today. What Should I Expect?

Recommended Posts

I have my first medical appointment for history and physical later today. I was wondering what I should expect? and do I need to bring my food diary to this appointment or just to my first NUT appointment? Thanks!

I think it varies a little everywhere, but at my surgeon's office they did not want to see my food diary. I met with the nurse first to take history, blood pressure, pulse, etc. Then the surgeon came in and did a basic physical (listening to stomach, poking and prodding) and talked in detail about surgery options. After that I met with the dietician, who did an H. Pylori test and tested my metabolic rate. After doing the metabolic rate test, she and I discussed a diet plan and how I should eat while getting ready for surgery. Then I met with their insurance specialist, who went over all the requirements for my insurance company and explained what I should do to meet each step.

If they haven't told you about the H. Pylori tests and metabolic rate tests, I doubt you will do them -- at least for the H. Pylori there is a fasting requirement you would need to know about in advance.

Oh and they also drew blood to check for Vitamin and mineral deficiencies as well as blood sugar etc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
