Hi, I was sleeved on Monday, August 12, 2013. I have lost 20 lbs pre-op and 10 lbs post-op. Finally feeling good enough to get out of the house today. I am finding that I am sensitive to smells, especially like sweet smelling candles. Has anyone else experienced this? Will it get better?

Hi! Congrats!!! When I was sensitive to smells, I was getting dehydrated. So get your drinking in. Sip sip sip and sip more. A cup is always in my hand or right next to me. Keep doing it! Blessings! ~ Melody

Hey Chanvita; Honestly I've been drinking the EAS Advantage Carb Control RTD shakes and Muscle Milk Light chocolate Peanut Butter. Really good - the only time I have trouble is if I let the Muscle Milk shakes sit too long and they get too watery. Then it's a bit of an effort to get them down but that's easily rememdied - just drink them faster. If the coldness is bothering you - try letting the RTD shakes sit out to room temp or mix the shakes with lukewarm Water. Cold things bothered me a little bit the 1st couple of days but I've gotten over it - sugar free popsicles are my best friend!

Side note - I naturally have a very sluggish digestive tract. Of course, even more since my surgery. I just got and tried samples of Metamucil's new multiHealth Fiber orange flavor drink mix. It worked for me! And the taste is pretty good. At least it isn't any worse than what we are already used to! I only post this bc it ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME!! And I know that is a common post op issue and wanted to help my peeps on here. Miralax, dulcolax, and other things didn't work for me.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
