Band to Sleeve Revision- One or Two Procedures? I was curious what your surgeon choose for you and how your weight loss has been so far??

My surgeon does it as a 2 procedure process. He wants the stomach to heal from the band before he goes and a does the sleeve surgery. He told me that band patients tend to have a higher risk for leaks if the surgery is all done at once due to the stomach becoming thicker where the band was. That being said I just had my band removed on Wednesday, now on to the next part of my journey.

I had two procedures. In January my four year old band was removed. Nine days ago I had the second procedure. I feel great!

One procedure:my surgeon doesn't make the determination until he g

ets in there and gets a good look at the condition of the stomach and extent of damage from the band. Although he nor I wanted my health put at risk in any way, I was relieved to get the surgery part and move on with my life minus the demon-band.

My dr did it in one. She prefers it that way. My stomach had prolapsed thru the band and my stomach was adhered to my liver. I ended up being in surgery 4 1/2 hours. Good news was my band unclasped and slid right off my stomach.

Had mine on May 6th in one procedure. Although my band was only in for 16 months and my Dr. said my stomach looked good. I feel wonderful.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
