I am getting my sleeve on Tuesday and I am so worried. What if the surgeon makes a mistake or what if he´s having a bad day? All this is out of my control. Anyone else with feelings like this?

Mine is Tuesday morning too. I have to be at the hospital at 5:15 for surgery at 7:15 and I was thinking, I sure hope my surgeon is a morning person....my husband's surgery is right after mine. Maybe he should go first :)

Hi all, it's now Tuesday morning adelaide time and I was sleeved yesterday arvo. All went well, thankfully they gave me a preop cocktail to calm my nerves. Some pain last night when the nurses took ages to bring more pain relief but all good now. No nausea so far. Jus saw the doc he said I had a lot of scarring from my previous lap band but he's taken as much of my stomach as he could. Now it's just rest, sip, rest, sip. So far it's been no where near as bad as I was expecting! Hope my fellow 20th may sleevers are doing well :)

My biggest worry is that he'll give me a rny or bypass by mistake. Thinking of writing "sleeve please" on my stomach!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
