I am 15 days out and felt the same way . It will get better just keep hydrated try popcicles they were a life saver . I didnt even do sugar free at this point u need all the sugar calories u can keep in . Also chicken broth helped. Im down 23 pounds started puree diet today had a poached egg this am and it was awesome to finally have something other than liquid. I do find myself eating too fast and i feel it in my chest . I have to remind myself to slow down . Just hang in there but if nausea and vomiting persist u may need some IV fluids . Good luck hope u feel better soon .

I'm 6 days out and was fine till today I have cramps. Like period cramps but I already had my period the week before surgery so it can't be that. And I'm super tired any ideas what it could be?

Yep the first 4 weeks are not comfortable. You are learning how to get all your H20 (not enough and you will feel terrible), learning how to beat head hunger, naand battle nauseau. I actually felt better starting the 2nd week and by the 4th felt more like myself. The first night? I wanted to push rewind. That was awful. But it gets better, dont suffer, call the Dr get some Zofran to all but eliminate nauseau. Stay hydrated, suck on sugar free popsicles, eat sugar free Jello, I had cream of wheat all the time. Get the drink drops from the store and add them to flavor your Water, Crystal Light strawberry Lemonade, or Dasani pink lemonade, both very good and makes water more exciting and easier to drink a lot of. Use ice in those drinks, tastes much better icey cold. Go for some small walks around your house, getting the oxygen pumping through your body/organs makes you feel renewed even in small doses. Give yourself a couple weeks to recover. You will feel better soon I promise.

I'm 9 days out and I'm feeling so much better than last week. The first 3 days were the hardest, I felt horrible and thought 'What the hell did I just do?!' You'll get past this and feel great too! Just a matter of time. I was given Zofran and it helps tremendously. I stopped taking it after day 5. Just think how great you'll look after this is all said and done!

I am ten weeks out...hang in there. It does get better. Focus on your Water and Protein as best as you can; it is critical those first few weeks in order to feel better.j

Best of luck to you! Take care!

well you guys were right its day 7 and I just drank 10oz of gatorade without vomiting. Sooooo happy! I am drinking 10 oz of gatorade a day to help me stay away from those IV'S for dehydration. I am too happy right now. I had actually got to the point where I vomited until I had dried blood coming up from my surgery so this relief is a relief. Now I just got to get my 64 oz of liquid in and 60g of Protein Isopure here i come baby!!

****oh and side note...how do I boost my energy back to where it was?

Definitely have had my ups and downs too. Thought "what the heck have I done?" a number of times...

It does get better but there is transitions that you will go through. My MD has told me that I can begin transferring to pureed foods. Kind of tried it out today and was so sick! I had the dreaded "slime". Went back to full liquids for now. So glad to hear from others that it takes 4 weeks or more to begin feeling more like myself....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
