1 week Post Op. Trip to grocery store overwhelming

Recommended Posts

This morning I took a trip to Publix. My wife usually does the shopping. But since this is a journey and logistical reasons, she cannot be here for a few more days. I am starting the pureed Foods today. I thought I would just go down to buy some canned chicken and some mustard, onion and whip up something. After doing it. I threw it out. I gave it to my dog, and he just walked away from the bowl. I found out how unprepared I really am. Is there a link somewhere that someone had done a basic plan. I have to do Pureed for 3 weeks.

What i did was boil some chicken, carrots, and onion with seasoning of your choice. make sure you have enough liquid. When it was cooked and cooled a bit I would puree it in a small blender. It had better flavor than baby food. I also put a beef roast and veggies in a crock pot. The process was the same. That helped me get through that phase of the eating plan. However, if cooking is just not reasonable for you..... pureed baby food is a option.

Why did you throw it out? I'm confused.

I went to the grocery store yesterday for the first time since surgery, 8 days out. I was cleared for full liquids and mushy foods. He said do that for a week or so, and when I feel ready to start puree.

Did you do okay with soft foods like yogurt? Yesterday I tried yogurt for the first time, and a scrambled egg with some cheese later. It was wonderful. I'm going to try ricotta bake with Tomato sauce and parm tonight.

If you explain why you couldn't eat it/threw it out, we might be able to help you better. :) I'm sorry you're struggling!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
