June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Recommended Posts

Surgery day was my worst day. Once the anesthesia started wearing off I started feeling great. Glad to know the hiccough thing is normal. I think it is everything moving around. Sneezed night before last and that was a treat! Will do my best to make sure that doesn't happen again for a while. Did anyone else come home with the jb drain? I get it taken out Friday and can't wait! I started to say it was a pain but thought that could be taken wrong so I will be more specific and say it is aggravating. Glad that is all I have to complain about!

Glad you got yours taken out before you left. I am thinking about what I can make to hang it on while in the shower. I have two friends that are looking to be sleeved in July and I am trying to think of things to get for them to make it more pleasant. Already been giving Protein supplement advice. I have found that 1 teaspoon of sugar free pudding or Jello in some of them can change your whole attitude! Plus some of the savory choices.

I have some hanging at the entrance of my closet so I see them when I open the door. Had a friend that came Monday night she brought food for my family and a size 16 inspiration little black dress for me. She had WLS 10 years ago so she knew the absolutely PERFECT gift. I thought it was awesome!

So u took Jello or pudding and put it into the Protein shake? If so, was it in powder form or already made?

I put one teaspoon of the pudding/Jello in the shake mixed it up and put them in the fridge the night before. I put SF orange Jello in the orange cream shakes, SF banana cream Jello pudding mix in the banana shakes (also put it in the chocolate and it was pretty good), and put 1 teaspoon SF chocolate pudding with the chocolate shakes. The orange tastes like an orange dreamsicile and the other like pudding. I won't do it later on when I have to be careful about calories but right now it helps getting through these 14 days of liquid on top of the 10 days before surgery. Those three Protein Shakes are from my doctor's office and are Bariatric Advantage brand. I also like the chicken Soup flavor from unjury. I worried about the shakes pre-op more than anything else. Had a hard time figuring out what I could have because many of them did not agree with me. To bump up calories/protein I mixed it with the 60 calorie Silk milk. I also mixed it with Greek yogurt. I will have to be careful later on but right now my calorie count is still really low since that is almost all I am having but will have to watch it later on. Hope this helps!

That's a great idea! I'm having issues getting liquids and Protein down...maybe this will help! I understand about wanting to see the weight fall off...but I have to admit with how I feel right now...will I? I'm just plain tired.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
