Lower BMI Bandsters!

Audree, they are advertising SlimQuick on tv. I am guessing it's not the same thing as what you are taking? I noticed today that it's

backwards from what you take QuickSlim.

I won't have the money until after Christmas now that it's getting so close to the holidays. I really want to try it.

Yeah, it isn't the same thing at all. QuickSlim30 is a combination of 12 herbs that actually do a lot more than weight loss.

The other type of "diet pills" have unhealthy ingredients and don't really do much.

I can vouch for that! It is great b/c you only have to take one a day which makes it an easy choice for me. I don't like taking two pills before each meal etc. Too much work!

Well, I quit smoking today! Yikes! I've been gearing up for this for a couple of months now and started taking Chantix last week. I'm not doing too bad, but the habit side of me would have grabbed a ciggie several times today. Oh well.

Of course, I need to quit anyway, but I did it to get ready for surgery that's coming in January. Still working on dropping a few more pounds and I'm exercising and walking steadily now. I think I'll be ready and I'm so excited!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi,

I am looking for anyone who has been banded by the newly fda approved inamed "balloon" band. :confused:I wanted to know what your experience has been on this long wirery road. For those looking to be banded, are there any particular bands that you're considering. Please share your thoughts with me as a lightweight. Thx.

Thanks!

Well, let's see. 10 months being banded, plateued for 6 months of it, took a supplement for 4 months of it, lost 40 pounds in the 4 months (2 months beginning and 2 months at the end).

I had double the help!

Hope that is not too confusing!

Baby - I have read this entire thread, and I am a lower BMI bandster too! Started at 36 and banded at 34 last week.

Anyway, I was reading your post regarding TOM and how you are tight for at least 2 weeks out of every month. Have you considered a birth control pill that restricts your period to only 4x per year. I have been on it for a few years, and absolutely love it -- barely get my period and have little to no PMS symptoms. Just a thought to consider if your period hits your body so hard each month.

Hey Group!

I'm in for the accountability. I was banded May 2007, Dr. Ortiz, Mexico.

I have NO idea how much I've lost, but I have had 1cc fill and I can eat ANYTHING after 2pm.

Today:

Breakfast~1/2 cup grape nuts Cereal in some hot milk

Lunch~Small piece of chicken and veggies

Dinner~Met friends at Outback...one chicken wing, small piece of bread and a few fries...I know...that is BAD. I'm still struggling. Some of my food started to get stuck and I had what I call a, "Lap Band Reality Check."

I joined a boxing class, so we do that Mon, Weds, Fri mornings and Tues & Thurs, I train with my workout group for a 1/2 marathon in January. I'm trying to keep moving. NO MORE FRIES OR BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband had a vasectomy a few years ago and I don't like to take any type of medication if I can help it. I treat my symptoms for the most part with eastern medicine (natural, herbal) and go to a chinese herbalist/acupunturist to treat any illness or problem I have.

Thanks for the advice though!!!:biggrin1:

Awesome!!! I was also banded by Dr. ORtiz.

I am happy to report that I FINALLY started my workout routine!!!! Friday I headed back to the gym. Did 40 minutes on the treadmill and upper body weight training.

I have been eating an egg for Breakfast, salad for lunch and a Protein for dinner on most nights.

I have been drinking my 60 ounces of liquids on most days also.

Taking my liquid vitamins and QuickSlim30!!!

Lets get this accountability group going!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
