Finally a New Wardrobe is in Order.

Recommended Posts

So, at just over 50 pounds lost (I've been having a bit of a stall this past week or so) its finally time to replace some of the clothing I have been getting rid of. I'm a bit of a minimalist and tend to be on the formal side of things so I do not require a different outfit for every day of the month or even the week but I AM down to ONE functional pair of jeans, maybe 4 tops, and two sets of scrubs for my job, and one lab coat.

I think just about everyone knows this but it is ideal to get rid of things the moment you notice they are getting too large. Thats what I have been doing but I am running into the problem of not having quite enough to wear now.

AND NOW I FINALLY COME TO MY POINT :)

It's so nice to have some choices in apparel that don't completely circle around just what will fit me. I'm still an 18 and rather large on top because I have always been.... well... endowed... but its not the issue that was before. I can finally shop at my beloved Brooks Brothers. Their classic button downs are to die for, they fit like a dream, they don't gap at the bust and at less than 100 dollars a shirt most people can afford that. Old Navy also does a classic button down that usually holds up pretty well too although your not getting the same quality. I still haven't decided what to do about bottoms. Pencil skirts are my usual go to but I am growing bored of them. Anyways, fun times. Farewell, Lane Giant.

Congratulations! Can't wait until I can unload my clothes. I live in yoga pants, sweatshirts and sneakers right now. I look like I'm always on my way to the gym lol! Anyone who knows me knows this is not me. I do like comfort but I'm a bit of a fashionista and love funky clothes. Congrats again!

all my options for work pants in my closet do not fit. I have had to be creative with leggings.

Congratulations! That is one of my primary goals is to get rid of the 4 different sizes in my closet and only have ONE...

Yes, these past few months have been filled with frump, which isn't who I am, but its difficult because I would rather save my money and buy some nicer pieces that are going to last with me a few sizes down then buy throw away things from Walmart. I have used a few things from there to get me through but I much prefer a lean closet with GOOD stuff. I can buy the Brooks Brother shirts I mentioned and they will be very close to the body, but as I size down they will translate well loser looking, and they are nice enough they can stand up to a good tailoring too if I want them taken in.

Down 50 lbs too. My favorite fitting pants are from Talbots, but they'll have to wait until I get to my goal weight. I usually wear tshirts and shorts because I work out of my house, but I'm traveling for work next week and I don't have any pants that fit. I'll be there for 3 days so I think I can get by with 2 pairs of jeans. Went to Steinmart today and I tried on a regular 16 and they fit, but a little too embellished for my work trip. Does anyone have a good place to buy plain jeans at a decent price? I haven't been out of plus sizes in over 20 years.

Love the trouser jeans from Macy's. You can usually find some from various seasons on the clearance rack.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
