June surgery dates

  • Popular Post

Hello all! I've been reading the forum for the past couple of months, thank you all for the great advice and sharing your experiences. It's been very helpful and informative! I met with the surgeon a week ago today, my surgery date is June 26. Anyone else for June?

Sonic ice ROCKS!!!

Getting a little burnt out on water' date=' beef broth & SF Popsicles. Need more clear liquid ideas for the next 5 days... Might try some Crystal Light or some Powerade Zero. Any other ideas????[/quote']

Jello sugar free, icee freeze the crystal light till slushy I use a can with lid like the monster energy kind so u can shake it really well after a couple hours in the freezer... my daughter had surgery last Monday and she got super creative ..added a bit of tomato sauce in the chicken broth added oregano salt pepper and some lime ..and it was really tasty ...and see through so its considered clear liquid

Usually its liquid diet until u hit the last 24 hours before surgery then its clear liquid but u might want to check with your nut

Thanks but I'm post-op & dr's order were clear liquids for 7 days after surgery then back to liquid diet for 7 more.

My next project will be makin homeade protein meal replacement popcicles!! With my powder I have...my tummy seems to be satisfied by the cold ice chips they gave me at hospital..so think imma try this to make sure im getting my protein in!!

Great idea! Let us know how they taste!

I'm the 24th also!! Starting low carb diet tomorrow for 2 weeks! Congrays on your date!

Ankle and feet swelling is normal after surgery..thts why they want u to walk an all..I walked alot! Lolz feet didnt swell until next day cause I didnt walk as much an prob because I didnt keep feet elevated once I got home..

Once I got to my aunts house was hott n miserable no where to really relax ..so my feet wasnt elevated as they should have been.so guessing thts why they got swollen...but home now n an able to fully relax my body..now they are bak to normal

Sorry, I didn't realize you are post op ..my daughter is liking the sugar free fugcicle ..but she isn't clear liquid .and she had surgery on the 3 rd .its so weird how diets can be so different from Dr. To Dr. Well once u can have liquids non fat sugar free frozen yogurt with protein powder ..

And my nut says if it pours its yours ...my daughter had a gastric bypass and I'm having my sleeve on the 24th but our diets are the same before and after.

My next project once I get to the puree foods will be buying greek yogurt..an adding my protein powder into it to make a pudding type deal instead of buying sugar free pudding cups.so im gettin my protein in as well..

I have read all different responses to "what do you bring to the hospital" question, but want to see if there are any post op sleevers that have some suggestions??

June 11 is coming fast and furious!

Well bring loose clothes to ur liking..wether its a nightgown, sundress..etc, slippers, flipflops.outfit u wanna wear home..all ur personal items ofcourse..dnt worry bout crossword puzzles or anything like tht to keep u busy..cause u will pretty much be out of it lol!! A robe possibly.cause they will want u up n walkin around.so just whatever would make u feel more at home basically..

I took as little as possible. Pack a gow n, robe, and slippers. You will have to walk around the hallways. Everything else, I got from the nurses: warm blankets, lip gel, etc. You migyt want to take a hair brush and any hair bands, and a tooth brush/paste. Yo u can take a shower before you leave, but I showered as soon as I got home since it wasnt a far drive. Also take a comfy going home outfit that is loose on the tummy. I recommend a suun dress.

Thats about it!

Thanks for the recommendations! I will be packing tomorrow. Getting really excited and nervous at the same time. Can't wait to be on the other side!
