Jahair, Great advice! Or Jo Ann. I can't really tell who posted the info. but thanks. I'm sore after a walk outside today! I got started and couldn't stop. The weather is unseasonably warm for MS, so off the treadmill and around the block I went. I was exhausted afterwards, but I feel that I accomplished a lot. Maybe we should each share one thing a day that we feel is our biggest advance for the day. Your accomplishment for the day might give me a goal/something to look forward to. You can tell that I am beyond boredom with this recuperation period. Any suggestions?

Way to go! Things can look a lot brighter after moving around. I'm really glad to hear you sounding better and stronger.

Best wishes,

Jo Ann

My surgery is scheduled for January 25th. I'm glad I just read this thread. It will help me to know what to expect.

Don't know if you were told, but remember Gas-X. It's a miracle drug. Also, the breathing "thing" they give you at the hospital is to prevent the Fluid from building up in your lungs. And, honey, walk, walk, walk. It gets the "juices" flowing.

Hi Suzy, my heart goes out to you, read my story on this forum just posted "When will I be full?" I know it sounds like a horror story, but I can say from experience although the journey can be hard it is worth it, just keep going as long as your health is not compromised. You will succeed, it takes months to make real changes in lifestyle behaviours. It has taken years to put you in this situation, and you are months away from a new beginning. No words can tell you about that feeling when you realize your investment is paying off, and you are having what "they" have been having and you are looking better than them because your are "NEW" Its within your grasp now, work with your doctor, use your brain and do your research. Keep "poking the bear" until you know its working in your best interests. It's normal to be a healthy body weight, and believe that is within your reach, it's empowering in so many ways. Good luck and learn to love your band, I will jump all hurdles to get my results and hopefully now I have whats right for me now

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
