Logging food & exercise may be the answer......

Recommended Posts

So I'm now just over 3 weeks post op (revision of band to sleeve), in the first 9 days I lost 9 pounds, since then not a darn thing which is pretty frustrating so early on! :(

So having read so much on this forum about "myfitnesspal" I have decided to give it a go and already I feel more in control.

I like logging stuff, like my weight graph etc and I hoping that this might help me to focus a bit more on what exactly I'm eating. I haven't logged my food intake since my Slimming World days and it's much more high tech now!

Can anyone give me a guide to what Protein, carbs etc I should be aiming for and is it possible to tailor the details on myfitnesspal to this? I have looked but can't find a way.

I think I read about 60g Protein and 50g carbs, does this sound about right.

(I don't have a nut, they are pretty rare around here and my dr only gave me the most basic of info.)

Onwards with my journey, I hope that this will end my early stall and get me on my way towards goal again.

Just wanted to add that I find this site fascinating and the information & stories very helpful and have become quite addicted :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
