CIGNA APPROVED ME!

Recommended Posts

I went through True Results..yesterday was my last visit of the four weight loss consultations that was required and I have completed everything else that Cigna has required but the insurance coordinator said that because my PCPs letter did not say it was a medical necessity that I may not be approved. It did say he thought I was a good candidate and I have HBP with a BMI of 43. I am hoping that I get a quick approval like u.. But either way congrats and good luck...

Hi CJ

My PCP letter did not state it was medical necessary, just that I was a good candidate. I got approved in 5 days.

They only initially approve one night, but your surgeon should notify the hospitals billing/insurance certification office while you are in if you medically need the extra day. I was approved for one day but stayed two.

My surgeon did not require anything preop. Postoperative nutrition has been a struggle :(. Hard getting all my Fluid and Protein still. I get full really quick and I just finally found a Protein Powder I like. Hoping that will help me start meeting my target. I know you are excited! Keep us all posted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
