Ok, so I thought I would breeze through this no problem. Woke up from surgery with massive dry heaving and pain. Found out that the Morphine was making me very nausiated. They changed me to di lauded and now massive gas pains. Wondering if I made the right decision. I just want to cry. Hurt so badly. I even have a second belly button from the swelling. Need encouragement.

Hang in there...!!! Ask for anti nausea meds asap...try to think positive, and b r e a t h e

Remember....every day gets better. Today is bad but tomorrow will be a little better. Get up and walk if you can. I promise it helps

I was sleeved on the 1st and was totally right where you are! IT DOES GET BETTER!! The dry heaving was horrible. I don't even remember much of the first day or so in the hospital! You'll be feeling better before you know it! Hang in there! I pray for a speedy recovery

I experienced the same thing...I weaned myself off everything. Started walking and felt much better...my only issue now dealing with wanting more than clear broth atleast tmrw I go to cloudy broth which will help the head hunger.

Good luck your doing great. I am down almost 20lbs in 2 weeks...

I'm the 17th as well!!! Not nervous at all' date=' just want to get it done already.. :)[/quote']

I'm on the 17th as well at 7am. Have to be at hospital at 530am.

I'm scheduled for 10am. I have to be there at 8:30am. Are you on a pre op diet?

Stacy03 thank you. Yes, that first day is a blur. I was so out of it, and they kept asking me questions, like who my other insurance carriers were and phone number. I yelled at the guy, or at least my son says I did, calling him a stupid ass as I had changed both several times and why they couldn't get it right. I honestly don't even remember that conversation. How are you feeling now? Do you have pain where the main port was? I am in so much pain in the big incision every time I move. Sucks.

Chin up honey you know from reading this forum that it will get better! We are all here to encourage you - all the way from Australia I send you cyber hugs..... You can do it!

I had my surgery Tuesday, July 2nd. Went great, not a lot of complaints. The "food" is getting old already, and I'm at complete liquid til day 15 when I get to start stuff of applesauce consistency. I can't wait for the pain to subside so I can go exercise again. Other than that I feel like I am learning a new language!!

That's a great way to put it, Kary--it really is a new language. We're learning to speak "Sleevish", I guess! I'm not quite fluent yet, but I'm getting a little better at it each day. :D

Ok I submitted everything for insurance!!! EEEEEKKKKK IT'S REAL!!! Will get a response in a few days I'm told!

Yay! So excited for you!

I just contacted my patient advocate and she was missing my cardiac clearance, so she didn't submit my paperwork like she should have a few weeks ago, I was able to scan and email it to her and she just submitted it today, so now it's the waiting game, she says typically it takes 2 weeks to get approval, and now they are scheduling surgeries for August, so looks like I won't be a July Sleever, but I am just glad I have had my documents submitted and hopefully I will get my approval in 2 weeks, so I can get sleeved in August!! Wish me luck!!
