You're welcome.

As for the fears... Once you're cleared by your doctor, you can add some weight training to your exercise plan again. Even a little resistance training will help keep that muscle (Protein in the diet helps with this as well). And as for the sagging, it's up to your genetics. But they do say that exercising & weight training on a regular basis helps keep you better toned than if you did not workout at all.

if you're this committed now with boot camp, you will most likely be just as motivated post-surgery!

Lost 5 more lbs in just two weeks. Excited

I have my surgery June 5th :) and like you I started working out before surgery to be ready for after it's been about two months now and I go everyday to gym for an hour or so and in 2 months have lost ONLY 10 pds I cried to my doctor and said really why only 10. He said right now your having surgery to help on what you couldn't do. Keep going to gym build up those muscles so after surgery it won't hurt so bad and motivation to keep going is already there.

We will make it and you are awesome to keep up with boot camp !! Keep up the great work

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
