I'm one day shy of 4 weeks, and I rode today!

A trainer friend started riding him for me three weeks ago (He hasn't been ridden since October), and I wanted to do his walk warmup today. Well, I was having too much fun, so I just kept going, and did walk, trot, and canter!

The funniest thing is, he's a dressage schoolmaster and started throwing random flying changes in when the trainer was riding him, but never did it once to me! He was such a good boy! Did only what I asked.

Because I've lost almost 40 pounds since I rode him last, I had to let my stirrups down a hole since I'm not sitting on so much butt, and boy did I feel my seatbones more, but nothing hurt (well, I am icing my back since it's been so long since I rode last). And I did notice I was able to breathe better!

I'm still going to give it a little while before I sit the trot. Probably don't need that bouncing just yet.

Haven't gotten on the tractor yet - too much rain to mow. But the grass is way tall, so that's next!

I am on 4 weeks post op and just started my guys on some ground work as I'm in maine and no where to ride or work them over the winter. I was sleeved on 3/23. My doctor said light exercise on my 2 week post op but really wanna get back in the saddle after seeing my cousin on my stallion today. He's the Saint in my barn of 5 horses. One of my geldings who I've had since birth and is 16 this year is my next Saint in a line up. I'm just worried if anyone bucks that will be a dreadful ride in an ambulance after where my core is not strong currently. Hoping to hear from some others with a similar down time from winter storming ruining the riding activity. I'm hoping another week or two would be sufficient. I just dont want to blow anything out if I end up on the ground for any reason. And if Pasta, rice and bread are problem children for 6 months, I fear riding shouldn't be done for that long either but I hope not.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
