I am 6 weeks out from my surgery. Does anyone have to take a change of clothes with them in case of bathroom "accident"? This is the 2nd time I have had to come home from work because of this. I keep a change in my car and at my desk.

I am going for my 6 weeks appt tomorrow with the Nurse Practionier. She had mentioned before not to use the Protein powder's that I could buy at Walmart. Which of course I did this am.

Does anyone have any ideas on the diarrhea or "MUST GO NOW!!!" bathroom situation? It is sooo embarrassing because sometime's I just barely make it to the BR @ work.

I would really watch the sugar content in everything you eat. A lot of the Protein powders (according to NUT) have too much sugar in them. Sugar can have this dumping affect on you..... I typically drink a Premier chocolate Protein Shake that I purchased from costco or Sam's Club and they have very little sugars in it. I read labels and won't buy any products that list sugar different places.... If I'm going to eat sugar, then the little I get, will be worth it...... Anyways, sugar can cause you to have diarrhea...... Hope this helps...... :)

Also many "sugar free" contain things such as malitol and or sorbitol which can have a "laxative" effect. If you are eating a lot of sugar free items, check the labels. It is has either of these, you might want to avoid them.

I found that vanilla shakes especially the ones that are very sweetened do this to me.

I hate to tell you but I am 4 1/2 months out and still have the runs daily. Every once in awhile I have regular movement. I go once or twice a day. For me it is usually after I eat when I start to drink about an hour after. I also carry change of clothes in my car and a towel and wash cloth. I've had some bad experiences when in the car. It is like out of the blue it comes on.

Sugar has nothing to do with it in my case. Before Breakfast this morning I had the runs after drinking 3 cups Water. Then I ate 1/2 apple with Peanut Butter and went 3 more times, but I am home and it is not a problem.

I need to bring this up to the doctor. I have not been able to associate it with any certain food.

I have not had this at all....actually I have the opposite problem at times. My sis-n-law had the bypass & has this issue though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
