How long we're you out of work?

Recommended Posts

I realize everyone is different and our jobs vary, but trying to get a general idea of how long I will need to plan to take off from work. Thank you!

My surgery was Monday, I had the whole week off and I'll be back to work on Monday. I honestly thought I was going to be back at work on Thursday but I'm glad I decided to take the whole week because even today I still feel a little soar. But I'm an administrative assistant so I don't have to do any heavy lifting or anything like that I can get the guys I work with to do all that stuff. Well I do that on a normally anyways so no biggie! :-)

I sit at a desk most of the day and I had to take 3 weeks off. It was very uncomfortable to sit for a few weeks due to sore muscles in my abdomen. I also had a hernia repair so that is another reason why I took longer to get back to work.

I'm a home health speech therapist which means I'm in and out if my car all day. I originally planned to be out 2 weeks but after driving myself to my doctor's two week post op appointment I realized I needed another week off. I probably even should have taken 4 bc my energy level was very low. But the pain was gone by then. I do alot of bending and sitting on the floor and carrying kids so that's why I needed 3 weeks off.

I am a kindergarten teacher and am attempting to go back Monday. That will be 11 days total. Hopefully I'm ready!

I took a week, but when I took in my note to return to work from my doc, they told me not to come in the next day...they closed the doors. Soooo, I've been off 6 weeks lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
