My husband and I did the surgery and I have to say, it is really awesome. I had surgery first and his was 6 months after mine....we are like a two person support group. It's really nice to have someone who really gets its and so cheap to eat out. We spill every meal and still can't finish it.

It's nice to actually hear about good husbands (boyfriends) on here. Seems to be so many complaints about them on here. We (guys) are not all bad, :D

My dad did the same thing. He drinks his Protein Drink every morning and told me he was going to be eating like me. I took my mom grocery shopping and showed her how to read labels...we were in Walmart for three hours lol. We share recipes and I showed her how to bake fish which they eat 1-2 a week. My dads lost more weight post-op than I have lol. I think it's awesome!

That is super awesome. My husband started losing with me. Drinking shakes as Meal Replacements, cutting back on food amount and what type he eats and he has dropped 20 Lbs and is so motivated now. He says it wasn;t as hard as he thought it was gonna be.

We work out together 2xs a week and has a very active job.

so excited for you

It is such a wonderful thing to have your loved ones be so supportive. My entire family is very supportive. My husband is one of those healthy fit people ( which i hope to be soon) and tells me all he wants is for me to be happy. He says he doesn't care what package I come in because after 25 years of marriage, 4 kids and two grand kids he falls more in love with me everyday.

My hubby and i have also both had the sleeve. He went first, as his medical issues were more pressing than mine. I got mine done 6 months after his, and he has been such a help to me!

My husband did the same thing and it was probably the most supportive thing anyone has ever done for me. He also lost 25lbs during it! Sounds like your hubs is one of the super great ones!!

It's wonderful that your hubby is so supportive. I don't understand how people do it without the total and complete support of their other half. That will enable you to get through this surgery and recovery all the much easier because of his support. :)

I am so blessed to have my husband as my rock. He loves me no matter what and I am so thankful and grateful.

That's awesome!

My stepdaughters, who live with us (15&13) drank the evening Protein shake with me, or had a salad with lean Protein with me. The other meals Breakfast and lunch at school, they ate normal. I thought it was great they chose to support me by not eating all that stuff in front of me!

Glad to see him being supportive!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
