Anyone here from Texas?

I didn't have a revision but both my husband and I used Dr. Nicholson. Very personable and great bedside manner. Good thing is, I don't have to drive to his Plano office if I don't want to for my visits - had the surgery at Forest Park Medical Center - highly recommend that place - pretty, staff very attentive AND you can go there for your 1, 3, 6 week, 6 months visits and see a bariatric nurse. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and have already lost 26 lbs. My husband had his Tuesday of this week. He's doing amazing.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I think I will go talk to Dr. Nicholson. I live in Frisco so it is more convenient for me to go see him.

Did you have a revision?[/quote']

I didn't have a revision but I know dr Stowers does them all the time! I have a friend who is going to him next week for a consult on a revision from her lap band!

I am from the DFW area and I used Dr Scott Stowers he is amazing!!!! Mybariatricsolutions.com

So glad to see your review! I am using My Bariatric Solutions too. So far, compared to an experience I had here in Waco, the MBS staff have been WONDERFUL!!!! I know its a long drive for me, but the attention I am getting from them is well worth it. Plus, they are letting me do some of my lab work here rather than drive in to DFW each time. Since I am self pay, thwy are chacking to see if I need any other work (gallbladder and hiatal hernia). If I do, the can fix it while sleeving me and then charge a portion to insurance. So far nothing but good things! :)

They were amazing... I was a self pay too! I had a hiatal hernia repair along with my sleeve! I am 8 weeks out yesterday and since I started liquids 1 week before surgery I am down 60lbs (43lbs since actual surgery) I am super happy with all of the care I've received... I was even nervous about how one of my incisions was healing and dr Stowers made time to squeeze me twice just to make be feel better! They are great! :)

If you look at his seminar schedule you can find one to go to. He actually conducts them himself. You get to meet who would beting you. Him. I think that speaks to his dedication. He has an office on Spring Creek. He did my surgery at Forrest Park Frisco so that was 10 minutes away from my house. The hospital is brand new and very nice. Some how I ended up on one of the 4th floor VIP suites. It's actually a huge 2 room suite. Swanky! The nursing staff was top notch and Dr. Nicholson leaves orders for pretty much whatever meds you want.

Only thing have to go down to Forrest Park in Dallas for is the NUT appointments so it's not often.

If you are self pay like I was, his office knows how to make it easy. No hoops to jump through or red tape.

Very good experience.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
