I had my surgery on March 11th. Until tonight I have been feeling fantastic. Eating and drinking well. Walking 2-3 miles per day.

Today when I was walking I got a sharp pain under my big incision on my right side. I slowed down and it changed to a full ache. I took it easy for the rest of the walk. It still ached when I got home so I took some of my liquid pain meds. That did the trick. I ate dinner without any issues.

I work nights so I went to work at 9pm. I was feeling fine, and at 12:30 I drank a Protein Shake. Shortly after I started sweating and my heart was pounding. I took my pulse and it was 120 bpm. After half hour it settled down to 80. Through the rest of the night I had no appetite which hasn't happened to me since surgery day. I had some discomfort in my left shoulder and in my back

A couple hours later my heart rate went back up to 110 bpm and has been there for an hour or so. I called my surgeon when I got off at 5:30 And he suggested I go to the ER. So here I sit hoping and praying it isn't a leak. Please send positive thoughts my way.

Sitting in a room. They did an EKG which came back normal. They drew blood (after poking me 4 times) to do a lab panel and now I'm waiting for a CT scan. He said he is more concerned about a clot than a leak. I need to convince him to look for both during the CT. Ugh this is not fun. We are supposed to leave for the Grand Canyon for Spring Break in two days. Praying it isn't anything serious. :(

Yeah, a high heart rate makes me worry about a blood clot than a leak as well! Hopefully it's nothing serious. Thinking of you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
