getting banded jan. 3rd

Recommended Posts

Hi Kellie,

I just got my band last Friday from Dr. Ramos Kelly in Mexico. I was very happy with the treatment in Mexico. I am already back to work and still recovering but feeling good. I just got onto this site today and just love all the information and support. I am hoping to loose 75 pounds. Good luck with your band and it is really an easy procedure with minimal discomfort after. I am on only liquids right now for the first couple of weeks and have my first fill appt for Jan 6th. Any questions please ask.

Good luck with your band.

Hi Kellie,

I'm waiting on my insurance approval and I am hoping to be banded in January too. We can be banding partners! I sure hope I get approved. The waiting is killing me.

I know I found out I was approved on Nov. the 20th and I am having my surgery on Dec. 18th

I have been waiting for approval since July but it was my fault because I wasn't finshed with my diet until Oct. but good luck keep in touch and let me know if you get approved Khristina:nervous

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
