Worried about future wt loss

Recommended Posts

I have lost 39lbs since surgery 1/22/13. I'm very happy with my progress but I have this fear that the wt loss will just stop! The most I have ever lost before surgery was about 50lbs. I can't imagine losing more than that, I guess because it never has happened. I'm afraid one day it will just stop! I want to lose about 114 more but can't imagine it!!! Has anyone else ever thought this isn't real or can't imagine that you will eventually reach your goal!! Crazy???

fear that the wt loss will just stop!

ipnurse2004

almost 3 months PO - down 39 lbs - kudos - glad you realize this is a great loss

i "think" the fear of not losing much "more" after a bit, failing with the sleeve happens frequently to sleevers

but.........you have a teeeny, teeeeny tummy - 85% is gone, down the toilet - FLUSH

since you can only eat so much, you will lose !!!!

the ONLY way you won't lose is if you graze, eat, snack all day long, eating high caloric foods

i can see B) it in your cute little face that you won't do do a silly thing like that

you went through a LOT, major surgery, I'm sure you will be compliant with all the rules - drinking, eating, proper portions et al :)

do what your supposed to - we "all" have faith in you that you'll do great :)

congrats on your success

you'll continue to do great

good luck

Sounds as if you are getting so far ahead of yourself. You really need to take this one day at a time. If you are eating right, exercising and putting your health first, how can you go wrong? Look at what you have accomplished in this short period of time. Stay in the moment, and leave the what if's for when they happen. Good luck to you.

This is a journey. Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow, just do what you know you must do today. Get in your Protein and Water, add in some exercise and LIVE. The great thing about the sleeve is that you don't have to believe in it because it is physically there. It provides restriction, you provide nutrition. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
