Almost 7 weeks Post-Op...think i ate too fast. help

Recommended Posts

hi guys me again, so i'm almost 7 weeks post op and today i took my Vitamins and had some Water. had a little fruit and some p.b. then for lunch i had my chili. split it into 2 portions. i noticed i ate the 2nd half pretty fast. this was around 1:00pm. so now 3 and 1/2 hours later i am still paying for it. i feel "stuck" and like i need to burp but i can't. my nose is running but could be my cold. no hiccups as of yet. but earlier like right after my stomach did hurt a bit. now my belly and sides just feel achy a bit.

i was working thru lunch and trying to eat so it's my fault. i know i ate too fast. but like i said, it was soft chili with Beans. it wasn't a steak or hamburger or anything you know? no bread or anything.

do you think i am ok ? the pain did go away.

now i just feel a little stuck. hopefully it will pass, the gas.

any thoughts out there? previous similar symptoms ?

thanks

Here are a few tips when that happens.

  • walk around
  • put your arms up to help the food pass
  • vomit (don't make it habit)
  • breathe through it
  • sometimes I rub my belly (psychological)

Most important it will pass but try not to do it again. This happens when I drink Water too fast. Also when I forget not to drink while eating although I have mastered taking a few sips with my meal when needed. My Nut says we are okay doing this because we still have "everything" intact unlike a bypass patient. I can't think of the name of the "thingy" that allows food to pass from the stomach to the small intestines.

Feel Better.

Hugs

The same exact thing happened to me last week when I ate salad! The runny nose, slimes, pain in chest, you name it. I had to just wait until it passed.I burped, hicupped, and puked a little. I just kept rubbing and patting my chest, and within fifteen minutes, I felt much better. Hang in there, it's all part of the learning process for us.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
