So I'm just over 3 months out and the last 2-3 weeks a couple things have been going on, when I stand up, if I move immediately, I feel like I'm going to fall over, it feels like my body is off balance..this has happened 2-3 times (that I noticed).

Today I was driving home and got very dizzy, lightheaded and felt like confusion like I needed to pull over for a min...I've tried looking up some symptoms but a little unsure. Going to try to get in to see my primary this week...from am to that point I had about 40 oz of fluids..

I was thinking a. Blood pressure (it was a little high/borderline before surgery but I was never on meds) now I'm wondering if its too low...b. low blood sugar? C. Dehydration? D. Vitamins?

I had a complication free surgery and journey so far with the exception of the above, can anyone give thoughts/advice, anyone experienced any of these type symptoms?

Thanks for listening

-Cassie

Inner ear infection? I would get to your pcp as soon as you can.

Hope you get some answers soon. I was thinking a virus (with a possible inner ear infection as Parker suggested), dehydration or hypoglycemia...but only your doctor can diagnose. Sending you positive thoughts!

I just went through this same thing. Stand up too fast and get dizzy. Orthostatic hypotension....that's what all the docs thought. You stand up too fast and our BP drops temporarily, leaving you light headed. Only problem was they did every test under the sun and couldn't prove it. But because the symptoms fit so perfectly, 3 different docs stuck with that diagnosis. I had my blood work checked, brain MRI, echocardiogram, carotid ultrasound, inner ear checked....you name it. Nothing.

Although my blood work showed no sign of dehydration, I took it upon myself to start logging my Water intake again. Turned out I wasn't drinking as much as I thought I was so I got it back up there (128 oz/day) and the spells went away almost over night. I've kept this up for a month and no problem. Whether or not the increased Water helped is anecdotal. Perhaps I conditioned myself to not stand up so fast. Who knows? But I do feel better now.

Thanks for the insight, I'm thinking dehydration....pcp I cannot get in until next week and I don't really want to go to urgent care or er as its not all the time. I upped my fluids today (right now about 70oz) and hoping to hit 90oz or so and do that for a couple days and see how I feel...I also cut out my am and pm snack and replaced with water....wasn't hungry so that was a nice little treat. I'm going to follow up though to see what pcp has to say.

Hmmm virus didn't cross my mind, so ill be glad to hear what pcp has to say. Does one have minor headaches with ear issues? (Never had ear infections that I can remember)

I am still thinking dehydration and hopefully that's it. It's such a chore even at 3+ months out for me to drink fluids. Today I literally placed my drink in front of my keyboard so I would remember....hey it worked!

Thanks for feedback. I hadn't considered an ear infection.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
