hair loss

Has anyone experienced any hair loss since their sleeve? I have not, just curious. I plan on getting as much protein as possible.

Couldn't tell you. Top of my head was bald before surgery!!

I am almost 5 months out and I am surprised that I am not bald yet! I can't tell by looking at myself in the mirror, but I know I am losing a lot of hair by the amount that I am losing when I brush my hair. It has slowed down a little, though.

Mine began in the beginning of my 5th month. Lots of hair loss, but I have a lot of hair anyway so it's ok. Don't know how long it's going to last...

I started loosing lots of hair a few weeks ago. I was sleeved in early December. I read a great article about hair loss with with loss is you body's reaction to the stress and vitamins/ diet won't prevent it. Reminds me of women who put lotion on to prevent stretch marks. Can't prevent those either, it's either in your genetics or it's not

You can follow everything and then some and you will still lose hair. I got all the protein, vitamins, minerals and even took supplements like biotin and zinc and I'm still losing my hair. Thankfully my hair is naturally curly so it's not terrible, but I can tell a huge difference when I try to pull it back or I don't bother to poof it out.

This freaks me out! I have very fine hair so when I lose everyone will notice.

My doctor told me that in month four I'll start to see hair loss but by month 6 it will stop. And as soon as it starts to fall out new hair is growing in. Minor comfort but I'll take it!

The one thing I noticed is that it's not just my hair on top of my head, but my body hair in general is falling out, too. My arm hair and leg hair are both noticeably lighter in quantity and you can see where the new hair keeps growing in since body hair grows so much faster.

I'm 4 months out this week and it has definitely started coming out! I remember on my pre op appointment I even had to sign a form stating that I realized things like hair loss are likely to happen... Yeah it kinda sucks but it will grow back, and if it gets to bad I will buy one of those products like those hair loss fibers you put in your hair!

I did not have much hair loss. I made sure to eat lots of protein, and started taking Biotin supplement before I even had surgery.

Hello, my hair loss was horrible.. I always had long beautiful hair.. Around 4 months it started falling out really bad!!! My hair brush and tub were full.. I was taking my daily Protein 60-80, Biotin, and skin/nails/ hair pill, and b12.

I am 9 months out and finally started seeing new growth... So happy about that as I have been super excited to show my family.

Don't worry about because no one will noticed! Hope this helps!

My hair is falling out like crazy. Started at 3 months out. Thankfully my hair is long and thick so no one has noticed. But- its falling out a lot. It will stop eventually.

Wednesday is 4 months out and my hair loss started today. I'm bummed - I had finally grown back what had fallen out as a result of meds. Oh well, I'm just hoping I don't end up bald - I've got a very lumpy skull!

I am dreading the hair loss! I'm a hair stylist and always feel so bad for people who have fine/thinning hair. :( I plan on just putting a few tape-in extensions for volume. And yes, if it gets really bad on the too the hair fibers work well to camo hair loss. There is one good one called x-fusion. Good luck to you all.

Im a hair stylist as well. I geel the same way. We can always you big sexy hair products. Maybe some back combing in a bottle :)

My hair loss has been substantial. I'd say at least over half is gone. I was lucky to have lots to start with however. My best tip- be emotionally prepared. It will effect *most WLS patients and if it's something you hope won't happen to you chances are- you will have significant hair loss. I'm sorry to say- its just a terrible side effect of surgery. I'm in my 7th month and still losing a good handful every day. Hopefully it will slow soon!
