A minor setback. My surgery was gonna be tomorrow March 11 but my ekg came back irregular. Can't get into see the cardiologist until the 28th. A little upset cause I was prepared and ready to go.

I know you're upset, but you really want to make sure you're in the best possible health for this. It's not that long of a weight & you know it will happen. Patience isn't one of my strong suits either so I know your frustration. Will be keeping good thoughts for you...

I was sitting in my motel room had already taken the milk of magnesia and called the hospital to check in and they told me my surgery had been cancelled because the insurance hadn't approved the change from band to sleeve but in reality my coordinator completely failed and never called the insurance ppl. So they pushed my surgery to oct 31 three weeks later. But things happen for a reason! Use this time to try and loose more weight so there will be less chance of complications and a smaller liver!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
