4 months out and so happy, no regrets! (Pic included)

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to say that I am 4 months out today and just so excited. My body is changing and sometimes it makes me laugh to know that I am supposed to feel the bones in my body lol. When I lay down or when I shower I am like " oh wow I have a collar bone, wow this is a hip bone.. oh wait this is an elbow and knee bones really?! haha you all know what I am talking about.

I have never regreted the surgery although in the begining it was a bit tough but now its not bad at all. Eating and drinking feel like a chore (never thought I would say that) but I am doing great. I am learning my body and how to work along with my sleeve. The only thing I have left to do is join a gym.. I have been saying for a while I even have passes for a month of kickboxing so I need to get my behind in gear with that.

Good luck to everyone that is just starting on this journey and congrats to all that have already started on this journey!!

My highest wieght was 303lbs in July

Surgery weight was 282lbs Nov 8, 2012

4 months out I am 224 lbs Mar 8, 2013

I am attaching a photo of the biggest me and then a pic from about 2 weeks ago. :)

Awesome! You look great! I know what you mean about feeling bones! Last night in bed I grabbed the back of my thigh, and yelled oh gross! My husband asked what was wrong, and I said I feel something weird. It was my hammies. He cracked up.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?
