And people ask you how much you have lost and it isn't different from the two days before when they asked..I feel like a failure.

My mom (who did not support this decision) seems to think if I don't lose every day then I am doing something wrong. Sometimes I really want to just scream "F&$@ OFF"!!!

Okay rant off :)

I used to have a few people that asked me everyday... Let me tell you telling them to f*ck off is really effective! No one asks anymore :)

I felt like that during the stall I just got out of.. everyone always asked and I just want to hide, whereas before the stall I would've smiled and told them. It's kind of embarrassing to me, it's like I'm failing, somehow.

I would just tell people politely, "Oh I just don't like to talk about my weight." You don't owe them anything but I don't think they're trying to be offensive so they still deserve civility, but I'm big on kindness over anything else, and am pretty mild mannered. If they've been royal pains and you've already told them to stop, then an f off might be more effective :)

I know the feeling! You could fib and tell them you only weigh yourself 2 times a month... I did!

I just tell them I'm at a plateau and will start losing again when the plateau breaks. I know some successful people who stalled for 2-3 weeks while other successful people had 9-month plateaus. It is different for everyone.

For me, from the very beginning, I've been up-front and honest with myself and others. I've been on a very slow crawl ever since September, but seem to have NSVs often so my body is changing and the way people see me is changing even when the scale doesn't reflect these changes.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
