a chick with a flipping beard

Recommended Posts

well not really a beard but seems like since surgery, instead of the 1 or 2 wayward chin hairs , I now wake up to oddly placed 2 inch strands.... on my cheekbone... on my chin... just all over my face

there can be up to about 15 of them, none close to each other but all over... and how in hell do they grow so long overnight?

the hair on my head never grows this fast ( I WISH!)

I do know losing fat affected my hormones ( as evidenced by my period that now comes every 3 weeks like clockwork) but this is CRAZY!!!!

Maybe Biotin as well! Yep... Pays to get a x10 magnification mirror and stand it direct sunlight to see them all!

At least you only have 15-ish! Since puberty I fought a heavy dark manly goatee and unibrow. I plucked and shaved every day, and even got a 5 o'clock shadow.

Finally in my 50's, fearing that I would end up helpless in a nursing home and that my sons would just let my facial hair grow unchecked, I underwent about 2 years of painful and expensive electrolysis. Just like VSG, worth every penny and minute! Not a manly hair on my face anywhere!!

After I had my baby,I'd always get one or two long fine hairs growing under my chin. I'd never see them it was always my husband who found them! It also happened when I was on birth control. It's hormones!

I've had to pluck chin hairs ever since I was about 14. I get thick black hairs tht I have to pluck on my sideburns. And worst of all, under my chin on my neck is a whole pelt of dark black beard hair. I've been shaving it also since about 14. Im now 28. This is every day of my life. It really sucks. I have to wear makeup over it every day so my husband doesn't see, bc even tho I shave it you can see the black spots in my pores. Also my neck sometime gets rlly red and irritated from it. sooo not fun. I have to worry about having razors, tweezers, and privacy every day to take care of it. On vacation, at home, at families houses, when I swim (worry abt the makeup coming off and the chlorine burning my skin if im razorburned). Its a mess. I really want laser removal, but that'll just have to wait a while. Oh, and its crazy bc im NOT a hairy person. Arm hairs are blonde, leg hairs are medium and light brown. Idk its just my lot in life.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
