i am scared but determined

Hello everyone! I am new to this group, led here by my sister looking for answers for me.

i have been through my initial intro meeting to describe what procedures are available and what to expect. this was my second meeting at a different hospital. i had already called my insurance company for approval and have started the necessary processes before even meeting with the doctor.this place is really great in that the secretary faxed over all the documents i needed to fill out. i have my psych eval tomorrow

I am 380 pounds now...my heaviest. it shocked me and scared me at the same time. i have tried everything and previously everything worked, but only for a short while.

its time now..i am sooo happy i found this site and so happy that i have support from those that have made it through.

And when you pass your psych eval, you'll know that you're just as crazy as the rest of us.

@momonanomo Thank you so much for the wwelcome! @mactrio monday?? congratulations!are you in a lot of pain right now?

Very little pain from the incisions, my belly button is sore, but it is getting better every day. I'm down 11 pounds since Monday morning. I'm constantly eating ice chips, I've been sipping on lemon zinger tea, Water, Gatorade and sf Jello.

Welcome! My date is march 20! You will love this site. It's very helpful!

It's okay. I'm scared, too.

After numerous failed attempts at losing weight (mostly keeping it off once I've lost it), I have decided to have sleeve surgery. Each day, I go through a myriad of feelings about the surgery: hope, because I know that I will feel so much better once I've lost weight and can hopefully get off my medications; fear, because I've never had any kind of surgery and the thought of it pretty much terrifies me; excitement, because I will be able to shop in the regular size section of the store for the first time in YEARS and I will actually be able to walk more than a couple of blocks without thinking I'm going to pass out or even die.

I have started all of my pre-op testing that has to be done and my insurance also requires a 6-month diet...I started everything the beginning of January. Again, excited and scared!!

I have a good support system, but figured it didn't hurt to join VST and get a little more. I've been reading the forums since November and have read a lot of good information on here, so I actually created an account today.

Welcome and Good Luck with your journey :)

I actually just came back from having my psych eval..it was really not what I expected! He was matter of fact, taking all but 30 min. Now i just have to wait for my doctor to provide what he needs to..
