March sleevers anyone?

After a long haul I am down to the final countdown 10 days and hopefully I will be in my hospital room recovering from the best surgery decision I've ever made I am overwhelmed with emotion mostly being excited and if I think too much I get a little nervous but I know that this is the best decision that I can make for myself and my future I'm not sure what I'm nervous of maybe the new lifestyle that I will be living but I know that that is what I need to do in order to be healthy this has been a long time coming I was supposed to get the surgery in July but I got tonight for my insurance company because they say obesity is a pre existing condition so we waited and resubmitted on January 21st I finally got the approval and had set up my surgery for February 11th but God had a different plan for me I went to the hospital the last Tuesday of January and found out later that night I need my gallbladder removed the thing that relieve me the most was that I found out that my bariatric surgeon was in fact a general surgeon and he performed my gallbladder removal surgery I know he's a great doctor and I am excited to have him working on me. So now I am fully recovered from gallbladder surgery and I'm setting up for surgery on March 6 it's the final countdown for me 10 days and I start my new life. How was every other March sleever feeling

Please add me to the list for MARCH 29th!!!! FINALLY got my date today!

My pre-op diet is 1week low carb, then 1week liquid. Surgery is 3 weeks away, and they said to go ahead and start the first part of the diet. Um.....no thanks, lol! I think I'll just start cutting portions, eat healthier, and save the low-carb for the 15th. So happy to have people being sleeved the same month!

Day 2 post-op and im feeling horrible... I feel like im going through drug withdrawal I can hardly keep my eyes open and have really bad shivers.. anybody else had felt the same? I tried walking, stretching drinking water.. I just feel so weak..

march 13 for me. preop diet not too bad in my case. I get to have 1 solid meal with chicken or tuna with a veggie to go with all the broth and shakes!

thanks for sharing your experiences. can't wait to share mine.

down 8 lbs since starting preop diet on Monday! woohoo!

Day two was the worst for me too. I am on day five and things are improving. The nasuesea is letting up and so is the gas pains. Now mostly weak and struggling to get fluids in. Skin and eyes are very dry do I use visine and lots of aveeno after shower. Trying to keep busy but stuck in house cause of snow storm. Set my alarm to go off very hour to walk around the house in circles to keep circulating. Kind of boring but one day will be a memory... The bad "2nd day" is already starting to fade from my mind. Stay strong...

Yeah its bad all I want to do is sleep.. I hear my heart racing from time to time.. I just want this phase to be over soon.. thank you so much for sharing...

Hi, just thought I would update also, is was done on the8th, woke up and just wanted to sleep more when I woke up again I got up and walked, gas pains were starting, I found that every time I took a sip of water gas would come out,so the hospital was full of burps from me,the nurse said to also try to lay on my left side but I didn't like the bed, I slept in the recliner, threw up twice, I would rather through the anesthesia up than obsorb it. Gross but felt so much better, I had a great nursery that massaged my shoulder, stopped pain meds at 4 the nextmorning on the 9th and went to Tylenol. O n full liquids today, and doing ok so far. Whoopwhoop

New me!!! March 21

Prayers for you both, I can't wait to hear how it went!

I was sleeved on March 6th and also had my gallbladder removed at the same time. My gallbladder actually burst during the surgery but the doctor was able to handle it well and I've had no complications from it. I'm recovering well. By the 6th day I started to feel pretty good. I'm 15 days out and had to come home from work today because the muscles near the incision where they removed my stomach are causing lots of pain as they stretch and heal. Just went back to work yesterday so probably pain from that. I'm on liquids until next Wednesday. Looking forward to chewing something again. I'm already down 27 lbs. 14 on 2 week pre op diet and 13 since the surgery. All the pain has been worth it already. Heating bad is helping with muscle healing.

Hello! I hope surgery went well and that youre recovering now.. stay well rested and keep us updated!

Hi everyone

I have been stalking this site since October, but this is my first post. I was sleeved on March 19th, so today is post-op day 2! I must say that I feel extremely blessed, I have had no nausea and no pain! I credit alot of that from what I learned on this site and my remarkable surgeon. I had some trouble getting my water in today, only about 20 ounces, but was able to get 40 grams of protien. I will keep following everyones progress, and am happy to be part of the team!

Karen Lafayette, La

Well I did it! I was sleeved March 18th and I am doing pretty well getting my liquids in. I just have to say I despise the sip test with great passion.

:)
