I just got sleeved on 02/11/2013. I am already tolerating soft foods and have not thrown up at all. Actually everything seems to be going really perfect except for some issues with gas but that is getting better. I started this whole thing at 217 lbs and I'm 5'6" and 28 years old. When I went in for surgery I was down to 205. I am a week and a day out and I am already down to 195. So I think thins are going well. I have read through some posts on here and they are kinda scary! So questions I have are is it normal to be able to eat anything and not have any side affects? I feel like I can do that already, I haven't had any problems so far? I would like to know how everyone else is doing and hear about complications and successes that others are going through who are fellow sleeves. I did not mention I do have pcos which is why they allowed me to have the surgery weighing what I did. I would love to talk to fellow women who have pcos and are going through the post op phase currently. Good luck to everyone!!!

Hello There! I was sleeved on the same day as you so I cannot really give you words of wisdom. There are as many good stories as there are bad ones. I haven't had much trouble either but they have me on liquids until the 27th when I see my surgeon again. Delena:)

I was sleeved on January 30th and am still not on soft foods. I had to do 2 weeks of liquids and now two weeks of purees.

I was supposed to stay on liquids too but they said I could eat yogurt so I did and I tolerated that fine so I have tried other things too, soft stuff like cottage cheese and guacamole and I've done great on them. Just can only have an extremely small amount. I mostly drink my Protein. The hardest thing for me is getting the amount of fluids into me. I was never a big Fluid drinker before and now it's harder, but I am trying. How are you feeling? Have you been losing? I am astonished how fast this is working. Nice to have another person who got sleeved the same day so we can be partners!

I would chalk it up to being lucky...you obviously heal fast. Don't worry about it, just be thankful! :)

I have heard that your new Timmy's nerves sometimes take awhile to heal. The only thing I would be cautious about is the serving size you are eating. Just to make sure it's appropriately small enough. Otherwise I would agree and say you are very lucky:)

I did Clear Liquids for 2days then full liquids for 10days. Now I am on soft foods and purees for 21 days.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
