2nd week of pre-op liquids only. Help pull me through this last week!

Recommended Posts

My surgery is scheduled for February 25th. I have been on liquids only for the last week with one week to go. I have not cheated once. But I am thinking about it all the time. Do any of you have any suggestions to get me through this last week? I know after surgery I will still be on liquids for another 4 weeks, but I'm really struggling here.

"Nothing changes if nothing changes, and if I keep doing what I've always done, I'll keep getting what I've always got, and will keep feeling what I always felt."

You can do it and you will be so happy you did.

Keep up the good work !!!

After surgery it will be easy.. Take it one day at a time.. and every time you think about it.. just remember this is the beginning of a new life.. And you will NEVER weight this much again...

I really am happy you are sticking to it, because the psychological part really does come into play

Before and after!

We really need to keep working on our "want" for food not necessarily our "need".

I get really scared for the people who "cheat"

All the way through their pre op...

I'm right there with you. Day 11 of 20 and I kinda had a meltdown yesterday. I got mad, I cried, and then I felt better. I keep telling myself I'm on the home stretch now...it's all good :) Btw I'm also not going to worry about my preop now. I set my goal of days till surgery, week one of preop foods, week two etc. Making goals in manageable, bitsize pieces...so to speak lol :) You can do it!

I would say take it as a personal challenge to prove to yourself that you can do it! After the surgery, you don't have the option to cheat because you could experience serious medical consequences. I would think of it that way even though you aren't sleeved yet. Good luck!!

Try to break it down. Focus on say the next 4 hours. Find something to do to keep your mind occupied. Then set the next goal for a few more hours. Drink the allowable liquids/water to help stay hydrated. Try this for the next few days rather than THE BIG WEEK AHEAD. That can be daunting. I have done this many times myself. In between you will find strength, this is the time to remind yourself "this is for me! " If I cheat, I cheat me. No one else will be affected. Repeat how you are the most important person in the world to you. Go to a mirror and smile at yourself. My wonderful husband had finally got this through my head. And if this doesn't work, try the fact that this IS what you will doing after surgery and you will be able to then so just do it now. hope this helps! :D

I had this same problem. But with a little support from my wife. And about 70 black cherry propel zero waters I made it 2 weeks without eating. I gets easier. Just stay on task.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
