Hi Pamela. My name is Stephanie. I am hopefully going to be sleeved in July, as well. I had my first of four required "diet" visits on March 14. I am 5'4" and 235-240, so we're very very close in size. I am 45 and my husband and I reside in Texas. I will try to stay on here as much as possible so we can stay in touch with each other. My job is very demanding and stressful so I may miss a few days here and there, but I will eventually come back. I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful journey for you. . .for us. May the Lord keep you well before, during, and after you are sleeved.

Hi, all -

I'm aiming for a July surgery, as well - happy birthday to me :) Since my birthday is mid-month, I'm hoping to schedule it for the 24th or so, to allow me to get through my birthday before starting my one-week pre-op diet, but I will take whatever I can get.

I've done my six months of medically supervised diet, which required me to meet with my NUT seven times. I've also had my psych evaluation. I still have an EGD and bloodwork to do, but our insurance coordinator said it would be best to schedule those closer to the surgery, so it will most likely be June when I finish those requirements and get submitted for insurance. Since I am a type-II diabetic and have mild sleep apnea, plus a BMI of over 40 I should be okay to get through the insurance approval process, we hope!

I'm also 5' 4", and currently weigh in at 255 and dropping (SLOWLY!) so I guess I'm roughly in the same ballpark with you, Pamela and Stephanie.

I am also required to do a 6 month Pre Op program. During the program I will meet with my NUT 7 times, have 5 group sessions and 1 one on one with my surgeon. I have my psych eval scheduled for April 30th. I am in month 2. Hoping to have my surgery scheduled late July!!

I am 5'10 and currently weighing in around 317. I started my journey at 319.8 so losing slowly right now but steady.

Excited && hoping this Pre Op time goes quick :)

Hi again to everyone. I hope y`all had a happy Easter.

I have 2 pieces of good news. I had to meet & talk@ length with my surgeon last week. I have RA & several previous abdominal surgeries. He told me if I have a good endoscopy & my rheumatologist will write him an approval letter, then he will gladly do my procedure. I have both! Now I just need to complete the insurance requirements, which is, as y'all well know, a waiting game, & I am good to go. Still shooting for July.

I am praying for each of you & your doctors & their staff.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Greetings July Hopefuls. I am also in line for a mid-July surgery date in NY. Have to finish up with the regular visits. With apnea and metabolic syndrome, it is my understanding that approval should not be an issue with my carrier. Saying that, I think my stress level on approval is higher than my stress level on the surgery itself. The old "check is in the mail" piece. I do not have a pre-surgical weight loss program but I do have the liver reduction diet. Frankly, dieting for two weeks isn't hard - I think it may be what got me here. Having done the homework on the surgery and the surgeon, I am now expanding my knowledge so I am ready for post-surgery. I want to be as ready as I can.

Hi! I am anticipating a July surgery as well. I am currently doing the 6 month pre op diet required by my insurance. I have completed most of my testing. Had sleep study on the 29th but haven't heard anything from the dr yet. During the study, the tech woke me up and hooked me up to the cpap because I had stopped breathing several times, so that doesn't bode well. I'll be meeting with the surgeon this week. I think the only other thing I have to do is the endoscopy. Then it's just waiting to finish my 6 months and get insurance approval.

Hello everyone!

I'm Shari and I have my surgery scheduled for July 26th. I was suprised to read about the six month diet requirement for some insurances. My surgeon is the one requiring that I lose 10 pounds prior to surgery, which I am currently working on. My insurance does require that I have three visits with the NUT. I've completed one visit with the NUT and two more to go. I've also met with the psychologist for an initial one-on-one. My second appointment is next week and apparently I have to take some testing. One of which is 500 plus questions! Yikes! All worth it though. I'm currently 5'5' and 248lbs. I, too, have to do the endoscopy, which I'll have done next month. Sounds like insurance appooval won't be as of yet, The facility performing the surgery will wait until I finish up with my NUT and the psychological assessment to send out for an approval. I look forward to going on this journey with all of you.

Hi! I am planned for July too - July 5th to be exact. I was supposed to have surgery on May 3rd, but my endoscopy order got screwed up and now no one can get me in before that date, so it has been moved to July. I've met my pre-op weight loss goal plus 5 pounds. I've done all the requirements except the endoscopy. Last week I got my insurance approval. I'm ready. Just need to pass the time now...see if I can drop more weight and make it easier on myself. I'm 5' 5" and started at 308. I'm down to 283 now.

I can't wait to start this journey!

Welcome to all the new additions to our small but mighty group. Just wondering how many of us have confirmed July. I see Christine has the 5th. I am hoping to know by April 23rd. Anyone else confirmed for July?

Staying positive.... *crosses fingers*

I won't know my exact date until end of June. Had my 2nd of 4 visits on the 18th & my 1st of 2 NUT visits. I was told not to lose any weight until after insurance approval since my BMI is @ 40.5 & I only have 1 instead of 2 Aetna co-morbidities. I have high blood pressure & high cholesterol & RA doesn't count. I am so happy to see our group grow. I live in Houston, Tx, how about y'all?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
