I hope to have mine April 9th. I have to complete 2 trips to the NUT and 1 more trip to my doc for my 6 month supervised diet. After that we will send all papers for approval from primary insurance. I already have approval from 2nd. I am sure praying things fall into place for me. Good luck all!

Yay! Glad your moving along. I was approved January 4, pre-op on January 17, and couldn't get in until April 18. My surgeon is scheduled out that far.:/ Oh well, I'm getting closer! ;)

Wondering if I should call my dr. The paperwork was supposed to have been sent to Aetna on 2/21, and I still haven't heard anything. I'm worried that if it takes much longer the doc won't have any openings for surgery the first week in April. I'm want to have time to heal before a Jimmy Buffet concert on May 5th!

Jen.D a call won't hurt! I love that you hope to feel better for Buffett. On June 2 I'm going to see NKOTB with Boyz II Men and I'm hoping with an April 8th date I will be feeling great. My friends and I are celebrating turning 35 with a blast from the past.

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to be sleeved on April 3rd. I've completed all insurance requirements and my approval request was sent in yesterday. Hoping to hear back from insurance and hoping the dr and hospital will be available on the 3rd. I still have to lose 9 more lbs (doctor's requirement). I'm working on it and hoping to hear soon about date, etc.

Good luck everyone!

Well I did call and they don't have an answer yet. My paperwork was submitted on the 25th, not the 21st as I'd thought. But they did put down a tentative surgery date of April 4th, which would be perfect.

I am hoping to have my surgery April 17th' date=' but still wailing to hear from insurance. My paperwork was submitted on 2/15. I had my EKG, all my blood work and tests and I had that test to see how liquid travels. I am feeling a bit anxious, but reading about everyone else on here has been quite comforting. Congrats to you! I am 5"5, weigh 241 and wear a size 16.[/quote']

Got my date today, April 17th. I am pretty excited. My preop diet starts the Weds. before Easter and we are having a big family Easter party and Monday we have a Breakfast planned after I do my show. Uggh

Hi! I am hoping to be an April sleever. I just got approved last Mon and am waiting to get scheduled for an appoinment with the surgeon. Only hurdle left for me is to pass the stress test. I couldn't do the treadmill stress test long enough so now I am being chemically induced tomorrow. I am a little scared but I have to do it to get cleared by my cardiologist. I am 5' 3" and weigh 275 lbs. I dream of the day I go under 200 lbs; it has been a long time. I hope to lose over 100 lbs!

You'll get there! I'm scheduled April 18. I'm 5'5", and weigh 267. Had to do the stress test on the treadmill. ..did bring tennis shoes, had a sweater on, told me to take it off. Thank goodness I had a tank underneath. So...walking treadmill barefoot, tank on, AND a HOT CARDIOLOGIST in there watching. ..totally humiliated, but kept telling myself, he's seen lots of big chicks. This time next year, we'll be smokin' hot! :D

I have been reading the forums about people being really emotional after surgery. That worries me. Do you guys have any fears about surgery?

Cheryl, I have TONS if fears, but the alternative is to stay big and miserable. That's not an option anymore! I try to focus the good things that will come, and not be paralyzed by fear that my children will grow up without me!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
