Yep and the closer you book to the date the more expensive the tickets get. I checked 2 weeks ago and the tickets were just over $200 but I didn't buy them. I checked today and the tickets are $300-400. I can't order them until this Friday so I am scared to see what they will be.

It may be cheaper but it would probably take 3 days to get there. Buses don't take the quickest route. They go through and make stops in all the towns between here and there. I have heard of it taking someone 1 full day to get to a place that was only 6 hours away normally. I could not even imagine what it would take to get from the east side of TX all the way to the west side of CA. I would much rather pay the difference and get there in 3 hours.

I also waited to book my flight and just got raped at the checkout! The price has increased by at least 200 dollars in the last few days. I should have gotten the ticket days ago, or even weeks for that matter. It's finally real though. Tell me again what should I pack?

You don't want me to answer that!! I overpack no matter what! I will have 2 full suitcases for a one night stay. My husband gets so mad at me. He says I pack stuff I have not touched in over a year. I am trying to go light since we are flying and we have to pay for extra bags but I start panicing if I think I don't have everything!!

Check Kayak.com for flight prices. They will tell you if you should buy them right away or if the prices will change within the next few days & if you should wait to purchase them, also they will track the price & email you when it drops.

Thank you! I will defintely check Kayak out!

To late for me, I've already purchased my ticket.

I heard that those websites know that you've been there more than once and jack up their prices when you return. Supposedly you're supposed to delete Cookies or something but I forgot to do that.

Sneaky web sites!

You should be able to fit everything you need in a carry on bag. I did & even brought my CPAP & an extra pair of shoes.

Sometime it pays to buy the ticket and if you need to change the date pay the change fee. Sometimes it can be less than the higher price of the ticket.

I know all about high ticket prices. I am flying 7000 miles each way on an airline that has the monopoly in my neck of the woods!! Damn you United!!!!

I feel your pain. I'm flying 15 hours for a 5 hr flight followed by another 3.5 hour flight and its only costing me $800 one way! /:
