Help, 3 months post op!

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 months (14 weeks) post op. I used to get full at 1/2 cup maybe 3/4. Now I can eat more n don't get full so easily. It totally bums me out. I mean, I don't ever eat n I stop but it's changed (my full feeling)

Has anyone experienced this? I want to hear frm ppl who are sleeved around my date (11/7/12) or sleeved longer. Thank you peeps :-)

Oh yeah n I've only lost a pound in 2 weeks! :-/

Im kinda worried my weight loss has stopped :-(

Hi I was sleeved the same day. For me it depends on what I am eating. Some things I am limited to 3/4 cup and I am stuffed. However, it you give me cottage cheese for example I can eat much more. Most people hit the 3 month stall....So try not to panic! I had a 1 lbs wieght loss last week and this week 2 lbs. So it will slow down sometimes. However, I have lost tons of inches. In the last month I have lost 2 clothing sizes. So when the scale isn't moving fast turn your attention to your clothing! That sure has helped me! Best Wishes! Hope this has helped!

I am also 3 months post op. I have hit a huge stall... Lost basically nothing in almost a month! I am at the gym daily doing a combo of cardio and strength and I too am noticing eating more. Can I ask your calories? I am getting so frustrated because I was losing more per week prior to surgery than I am now. I have lost 75lbs total, 35 are from post op.

I'm trying to stay optimistic but after a month of hard work it's getting more and more difficult.

I'm 3 months post op as well and I've noticed I can eat more too. It worries me that now I have to control it on my own when before the sleeve would kind of just stop me from over eating. It's important for me now to measure all my food and be aware of exactly how much I'm eating. It's a bit tougher now but we can still do this!

I'm 9 weeks, and I've noticed it, too. I can now eat about 6 oz, or 3/4 of a cup, depending on what it is. But I was only able to tolerate 3-4 oz. I think it is the swelling decreasing, and we are healing. I think it's headed more toward the normal of what our lives will become. I never push it to see just how much I could eat, because I don't like that full feeling. However, even being able to hold more, I'm still around 800 calories a day. That's great for the short run and rapid weight loss, but it's really not good for long term health. Also, if you read what the people who are more than 2 years out say, they all confirm they can eat more than at first, but still have restriction. They are also at goal...so I'm thinking we are good :)

Thanks ladies for replying! I eat about 800-1200 calories a day. Yeah it's hard. But hey yesterday I had 1/2 cup of cottage cheese n was so full! So, idk, I guess I'll check back with u all next month :-) and I'm now doing 30min on my elliptical daily. We shall see :-) we got this. It's mental too for me so I'm just gnna keep taking before n after pics of myself lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
