Constipated... What else can I do? TMI

I got a vitamix a week ago, and I've been having a green smoothie everyday. It's as regular as it was 'back in the day'. You could set your watch too it.

Can you give me some details on whats in your green smoothie... recipe?

Because of all the fibre a little bit of fruit goes a long way.

I am happy to announce that as of an hour ago I won that battle and finally feel relief... was getting a little nervous especially with the though of my doctor having to manually clean me out lol.

I know it can't be a lack of Water because I drink at least 100oz a day. I am going to continue with the MOM for a little while till I feel regulated, incorporate chia seeds in my Protein drinks and try and come up with some type of daily "green" shake.

How do you prep your chia seeds for your shakes... do you soak them first? Do you think added them to my morning and post workout Protein Shakes might be enough to cure the Constipation?

'Manually dealt with' - don't even like people wagging their finger in my face!

Hahahaaaa! Not pleasant, but sometimes its got to be done. And also, it's going to be a nurse who disimpacts you :)

Yes, do soak the chia seeds in Water first. I have found 20 minutes to be a good soaking time, but also go by a simple rule. If the seeds stop moving or resettling immediately after shaking them up in a blender cup, then I know they are ready to mix with Protein powder. I hope that makes sense. If you use them before gelling, I found out they do not work as well or at all with the "going issue." They will just pass right through and that will seem like a waste. Pun intended. I have found it best to use chia seeds in my morning shake, just because there is more time for me to wait for the seeds to gel and it gives me time to drink about 32 oz in 30 minutes before drinking the shake. Drinking water before chia seeds is important to prevent dehydration. You can drink water after the chia seeds, but that has the issue of flushing the seeds through your system too fast. Again, you do not want this because it will not be the optimal use of the seeds.

I see people saying they are drinking 100 oz of Water a day...I am 4 days post op and my Dr told me 60ml of clear fluids every 2 hours for the next 3 weeks...and he wasn't concerned about Protein. This doesn't seem right based on everything I've been reading. Can you please tell me what you've been eating from 4 days post op and on

I think your Dr just wants you to focus on getting your fluids in. At 4 days out I was literally only drinking gatoraid, thats it. No broth, Protein nothing. Just tons of Water and gatoraide. On my 5th day is when I had my Protein shake and started logging my calories, protein and carbs. I think a week out I was already drinking 2 shakes a day and a few cups of Soup.

You need to call you doctor and clarify what he expects you do eat.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
