I'm nervous but excited. Sometime I feel like its so soon and other times I wish it was tomorrow. I'm still doing a lot of research and trying to self educated as much as possible. I'm also still going through the steps got insurance and preop clearance but as of now I'm scheduled for April 15.

I'm April 1st and can I just say that I am so tired of waiting! I think part of my problem is that I want winter to be over and in my head I have spring connected with my surgery, hehe

Yay!!! You are literally the first person I have found that had the same surgery day as me!! I was feeling so alone until now. Sounds strange but it almost helps to know that someone somewhere out there will be going through it too at the same time as me. Where are you from?

I'm in San Diego. I was actually scheduled for March 5 but my arm doctor told me no. I had surgery on my arm in November (which involved cutting the bone) and it hasn't quite healed yet so hopefully having another month will give my arm time to heal.

I'm on my phone so I can't really see anything ok your profile. Where are you from?

Had my surgery April 15 th in Cleveland Oh. Feeling great,

Had a moment in the hospital when I thought what did I do to myself.

Now I have no regrets.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
