Stall- Hard to accept

Recommended Posts

I am three weeks out from surgery. The first week I lost 14 lbs, the second week 6 and then this week I gained 4 lbs. I have read all the things on here about stalls and how my body is adjusting but it is just so hard to accept that I actually gained weight. I went through this surgery to lose. I could have gained weight without it. I keep telliing myself that it will get better but my head keeps saying I am going to fail. I am eating between 500-700 calories, taking my Vitamins, and getting in all my Protein and liquids. I am doing everything right. It is just so hard to step on the scale and see that extra 4 lbs. I just I wanted to come here and vent because I knew all of them would understand.

I understand I've been there done that and I'm still doing it! It's a long road but we are now traveling In the right direction! There is going to be some pot holes and speed bumps along the way but, we will get there!!

Slowly, safely and surely!!

When I was two weeks I hit a stall and it didn't move again until I was almost 7 weeks and I'm only taking in 300 calories a day. But while I was on the stall I went down 2 sizes. So it all works out somehow. I do know how you feel. I wondered what was the point of having the surgery. And it was so hard being happy for others when they come on to share their successes and you feel like it's never going to happen for you. But it will. Just give it some time.

I've been in a stall since before the holidays! I've started exercising again so I hope the scale starts to budge for me. You too! Best wishes for some scale gratification!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
