I've been a size 10 until they put me on psych meds. I'm now a 2x. I found a new psychiatrist who changed my meds and have lost 20 ponds in 4 weeks. I cancelled my surgery until may to see if the weight loss continues. My question is, are there people who don't lose on the sleeve? I've heard of 2 cases but they are foodies.

In my opinion, there are those who have the operation, and then don't change their mental attitude towards food or working out, and end up right back where they started. I work with 5 people who have had the operation, and 1 who had the bypass done, and all 6 of them have had amazing success. You get back what you put in to it.

I don't have any research data or anything, but in my opinion, if you get the sleeve, work hard, change your attitude and do what you're supposed to do, and what millions of others have done, I think you'll be fine, so long as you don't have any sort of medical issues that would alter that.

I am having strong problems but still losing weight - I am a foodie/foodle and the mental battle is continual but I have to make this work. As for wondering about the sleeve compare to the band & by-pass - I have know people who have had not reach their weight loss goals. One person who had the band have only lost 20 pounds in 2 years - she has some family issues. I have meet a few people who have had problems with their "bands" and had to have repair surgery - the sleeve. It took me about 17 years to decided to have the surgery - and I am grateful because of the progress in this field of bariatric weight loss.

If you have the time to review this lifestyle and think you can do weight loss tradtionally I say your decision to cancel is right on. I miss eating foods that are on the No-No list but medically I have to readjust my life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
