chewable multi-vitamin

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I have a question about the Multi-Vitamin. I take 1 opurity chewable a day. Some days it makes me unbelievably nauseous and other days I'm fine. I think it depends on how well I chew the Vitamin. It is so sour that sometimes it is hard to chew. I tried to find a substitute Vitamin, such as a Gummy, but none of them have anything close to the amount of Vitamins in this chewable.

Has anyone else had this problem?? I know I need my Vitamins and I am choking this thing down every day, but I hate not knowing how it will make me feel. Any other vitamins you guys have tried? Also, is it possible to take a multi-vitamin pill, not chewable? i prefer pills!

I use Flintstones chewibles with Iron. I don't find them to be that bad.

I'm about 4 weeks out and have to chew a Vitamin twice a day. It makes me terribly nauseous, which is new! It didn't bother me until about a week ago. Now, its so sweet that I can hardly stand it!

I'll be asking my NUT about this on Tuesday!

Vitamin World has a very good multi Vitamin that's chewable in pineapple flavor and it has as much & a little more of somethings than Bariatric Advantage one does. That's what I use cus it is cheaper and im on a budget right now. If you don't have a Vitamin World close you can order online and they will ship to you. I don't do the gummies because i was told they leave out some of the important one's because they taste yucky. Good luck in your search :}

I was taking one of the Bariatric chewables preop and was fine, but it made me gag post op. I have no problem with Flintstones chewables-and my nut actually recommended them. Much less expensive too!

calcium citrate is the one to go with. its easier for us to break down after surgery because we don't have as much stomach acid as before surgery.

I buy my Vitamins at Vitamin world. They have all of what I need and I can afford to purchase them. In the past I quit taking vitamins because they were so ridiculously priced I couldn't justify there expense in my budget, then I discovered vitamin world. :}

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
