I track everything on MFP. I was sleeved on Jan 7th and I started at 250. I was only able to eat (drink) between 400 and 500 calories per day until this week. I started the week at 233. I have increased my calorie intake to 800 calories per day and I've increased my Protein intake significantly. I'm still not getting 80 grams, but it is much more than I was getting before. Today I am 2 pounds heavier. Could eating 800 calories per day cause me to gain since my body was used to 500?

You're right on track for the 3 week stall. My longest stall was at 3 weeks out and lasted 20 days. Just keep doing you and follow your plan. Your body is just readjusting. I hit a stall every 2-3 weeks. I'm a classic stair-step loser. I've stair stepped my way down 211 pounds so far :)

DO NOT worry and do not do anything crazy. Just get your Water and Protein in and keep doing you. YOU GOT THIS. It's a mental mind **** so hold on tight.

Thank you. It doesn't make sense that I can eat so little and not lose weight every day but it helps to know I'm normal.

At this point month 1/2 out and similar diet as you my weight has been plateauing every so often or few days apart and between and when it does the weight fluxtuates a few pounds up, stalls, then I loose a a few more than the high number after couple days, another pound or more then the same. Has been on going for a while, I expect added exrcise soon will change this some but I expect these plateaus and fluxtuations to go on. I do lose more going downwards and its better maybe to judge on a weekly bases as others do it and I've read here on forums before.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
