Today is your day yay! I hope it went well for you.

I am getting my sleeve on Feb 25th. I am nervous but just because I have never had surgery before. My thoughts are I have tried everything, and I want to be healthy again. My concern is that I haven't told my side of the family because they are so negative about people having wls. So, my husband and his side knows because my mother in law just had it. She is doing great by the way, she has lost 28lbs in 5 weeks.

Good luck, and your not alone! :)

Jlb15 Thank you, I know exactly how you feel. There were only a hand full of people I decided to tell and about half of those people had their opinions and their negativity but the other were excited for me. Surgery went really well. It started at about 915 and I was in my room at about 1. The medications they are using are really good. Really really good lol, havent felt much pain at all. Was up walking at about 3 no problems there either. Once I started using the spiro (whatever)for breathing. That was painful because u get air bubbles every time blow but it quickly goes away. Btw. This was my first surgery too. All in all wouldnt change a thing so far. I yours will go just as easy breezy as mine, I know it will!!!

I'm the 13th too! Very excited and scared at the same time...this pre op of liquids only sucks though, it does get a little better every day but its still hard to see everyone around you eating and all u can have is boring Protein shakes! Oh we'll sure it will be worth it! Congrats to all of you who had surgery today!

Talk about cutting it down to the wire. Some of you may have seen my anxious post that the anesthesiologist had requested a cardiac clearance at the last minute, which required a mad scramble on my part to get that pulled together. I am scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning, in Nashville, which is three hours away. I just now got the call that they've gotten everything and that the surgery is on and we're good to go. I have run the gamut of emotions today, back and forth from despair to relief. I had just settled back into the idea that I didn't mind if they rescheduled my surgery because I would like to devour the entire contents of the nearest fast food restaurant right now. My clear liquid only diet started yesterday, but because I had to do cardiac testing, I couldn't have anything but Water until they'd done that, and as a result I only got one Protein Shake in yesterday. It's hard to get ahead of that hunger on Clear Liquids and stave it off, but I'm trying as hard as I can not to think about it. Now that it's set, and definitely happening, I am terrified all over again. I tell you the truth, I am really mourning food. I can't imagine life without the habits that I've formed around it. That is the sign of a true addiction, and just another reason why I need this surgery. I just wish it included removing the part of my brain that is behind it all. I pray I won't feel like this for weeks or months after surgery.

I also just had the horrifying realization that I have not shaved my legs, and I'm not sure I can muster the resolve to do it in the hotel room tonight. I hope the surgical team are ready for that. It's not pretty. x[ Oh, and I had the great joy of starting my period yesterday. Um... I think that completes my lamentation. Hopefully my next post will be post-op. Say a prayer for me, or send me happy thoughts, both are welcomed. :)

WOW! What an insane day! Don't worry about the legs! No one will care one bit, hun! Just try your best to relax (haha) and prepare mentally tonight.

So far so good in recovery. The pain is defiantly there. The morphine makes me throw up they just switched it to another drug. Overall I have no regrets. I am ready to get better and feel like myself again.

I'd bring a small pillow. It's been my life saver.

Kinda bummed that my surgery that was scheduled for today got rescheduled until 2/27 :( :( :(

Apparently my surgeons second case was 6 hours long and their was still another person ahead of me so it was no way that I was getting in today.... The office wanted to put me on the schedule for tomorrow but I would be the 6th case of the day.. So I would have been in the same situation. Oh well probably for the best....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
