Dr. Kelly in Mexico $5500 plus two plane tickets and spending money for a total of $6200. I don't find going to Mexico to be controversial.

I also had a consultation in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas and was quoted $10,500 which includes a year of follow ups.

I'm in Washingon state, but chose Dr ponce de leon in TJ for under $6000 revision.

Recommend MX simple for the fact of their vast experience and care. Also, from all the posts I've read it seems like US dr tend to over anesthetize, over gas and over pain-medicate and is tends to lead to longer recovery time.. Just my opinion

I am in Austin, TX & was quoted $9,900 (surgeon, anesthesiologist, hospital stay over night but psych eval, NUT class , etc was extra but only about $200. Kind of worries me that southwest bariatric's price quote is so much lower than other cities.

Yikes, looking at the other responses, I think I drastically overpaid.

Wisconsin: 23,500- includes 90 days postoperative care. Doesn't include NUT, psych, endoscopy. All together I paid about 28,000.

Austin, TX - Dr. Ganta. I paid around $14,500. It included a year of follow up, the hospital, anethesia, etc etc. Awesome doctor and awesome after care. That was a year and a half ago, but I think the prices are pretty much the same.

6800 in Juarez w/ Dr. Rodriguez. More expensive than the other Mexican locations, but Dr. Rod is dual certified in WLS and endoscopy. So after surgery he scopes you to check everything out. Also he is certified in America, and does surgeries in Las Vegas. I feel very safe and comfortable about this. Airfare from GA for 2 ppl is about 1200 in March. So $8000 total for me.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
