Malexa, im also on the 12th. Im 28 yrs old, 5'5" and 250 lbs. I have 4 children, ages 8, 2, and 11 month old twins. All girls. They need me. My husband needs me. I want to live a long happy life, be there for my kids, my family. I can't imagine how their lives will be without me if something bad should happen. But, as others have said, you take a risk of dying every time you get in your car and drive! you never know when a drunk driver will hit you, or a tree fall on you and kill you (this actually has happened twice in my town the past few years!)...to me the risk is worth it though. Its a small risk, let's be honest. And the positives far outweigh the negative "what ifs" bc this is my last chance to be healthy and happy with myself. If I don't do the surgery, I will get bigger and bigger...that has WAY MORE negative effects and risks than the surgery!! I am a person of strong faith and I believe if its not my time, God will protect me. Im praying to be surrounded by angels during my travel to mexico and my surgery. That's really all we can do in any situation, in our every day life. Just pray about it (if you believe in God) and hopefully God will bring you a peace about it ;) hope this helps

I can't believe I'm 3 days away from a new life. I feel like its been forever since I started thus process....about this time last year I decided to do it and now March 6 is creeping up sooooo much faster than I could have imagined!!!! I'm nit scared or nervous...I'm afraid I'm going to start freaking out Tuesday night and I'm going to have no one to freak out to because I can't talk to my parents because they're already nervous so i think they're finding comfort in that I'm not nervous but rather excited! Ugh!!! 3 days please pass fast!!

OMG, it looks like 14 people are getting sleeved tomorrow! Woohoo!!! I am nervous for my 13th date, but it still doesn't feel real. Then I read people's messages, like Jennifer616 who is getting it done on the 6th, and her nervousness makes it feel more real to me...and then I get nervous...and anxious and excited all at the same time. Good luck to everyone who is getting it done this week! My prayers are with you all!

Heya, caspilnelli....

Just breathe. Go on YouTube and look at before and after photos, and read all the positive stories here. I'm scared too, and I think we would all admit we are. :)

Hey you guys, I was sleeved on the 1st it is now two days after and I'm still pretty sore. Just remembering to sip, sip , sip.... or you get sick lol I'm glad its over and it will be a lot better in a couple more days but you will sore. Just remember to get up and walk as soon as you can to help with the gas pain. Its been nice to sip apple juice, and Water but just sip. Your sleeve is so swollen if you drink a lot at a time it will just come back up or cause chest pain remember to take it slow, good luck to all of those sleevers on the 4th and the rest of the month.

Kaleen, you rocked your surgery. I seen you walking and being so supportive to the others that were the same day or the next! You would always give them words of encouragement. Way to go!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
