Seriously? I have to gain 8 lbs to get a revision?

Recommended Posts

Definitely round down the height. I was self pay when I did the band and would have made the insurance requirement but I thought I was a bit taller than i was! I still would have needed to gain a couple of pounds, but heck, I'm really really good at gaining weight :)

It is really stupid what they make you do. Especially as while I've been working toward my revision the doctor said that recent weight gain is bad because that fat nearly always goes right to the liver and makes this surgery more dangerous. So if you do gain it, try to lose it again!

Totally crazy! I hear what u are saying. I am waiting for my first surgeon apt and know that his criteria is for BMI to be above 35. I have been eating like crazy - it's kind of weird as I am almost having to force myself and it feels disgusting and unhealthy.

When I was initially refused by the first surgeon as my BMI was too low at 33 - even with 12 year history of failed band with complications and a previously much higher BMI - I asked should I just go and put on 10kg? Sadly the answer was yes.

My insurance will cover it, I have the gap $ and the time and motivation but no surgeon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
