How did you do it?

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve surgery exactly one week ago. I was doing great, no trouble with not eating or with moving around. Then I hurt My foot. I am in pain and having trouble moving around. I am so at the end of my rope! I just want to be done. How do/did you handle this?

What do you want to be done? You want to be at goal after a week out?

Well, reality check...this won't happen. But you can be assured you will continue to lose weight, perhaps a little more slowly now that you can't be active...but the sleeve does work.

I hope you get better soon. Hugs - I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

Hi,we do it very slowly in the beginning. And I mean, rest enough, sip, sip, sip.Be nice to yourself.Take liquid pain meds when needed.

I didnt move much for 10 days,I felt way to sorry for myself to think about moving much.Thought my life was over..lol.Just walked slowly down the stairs every hour to get more Water or broth. And then I felt much better after 10 days.

Just hang in there,it will get much better soon.

:-) I do believe in miracles, but wasn't really expecting that. :-)

No one said I was being logical :- D Just going through a down period. I know that that it is a process, but frustration doesn't always make me logical. What I was wishing was over was this stage where I can only have liquid. I do understand the necessity of it.

Today I feel better. Tomorrow I go talk to my surgeon. Hopefully on to the next stage.

Free2bme002,

I will be sleeved at the end of the month so I really don't have much advice to offer. It would be a bummer to be healing nicely and then BAM, getting hurt. Feeling a bit down is completely understandable.

Hope you have a good conversation with your surgeon and you leave feeling much better! I'm excited for you to move onto your next stage too. Soon this recovery phase will be history and you will be feeling normal again. Best wishes to you.

My sleeve was done Dec 26th and I know exactly what you are going through. Fatique is getting me big time and I am hoping now that I can take vitamin's and swallow pills again it will get better. Stay focused on the positive outcome of doing this procedure. Journal your feelings and write down everything you drink to track the amount of Fluid and grams of Protein. If you are a bit under don't stress but know as you go day by day it will get better.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
